During the meeting of Odesa City Council, the deputies decided to introduce an automated public transport fare system in Odessa. For the decision to implement an electronic ticket in Odessa voted 59 deputies. Vadym Tereshchuk, head of the commission in economic, investment policy, trade, international affairs and information technologies, emphasized that the introduction of an e-ticket would improve control over the provision of services and preserve more money in the budget. The concept of introducing of a modern model of urban passenger transport envisages the implementation of e-ticket systems, the creation of a sole operator for all passenger transportations by public transport, the reorganization of the route network, the development of a sole dispatching system for public transport management, and the establishment of a clear tariff policy. The city authorities will announce a tender according to which the contractors and carriers will be selected.
